In 2005 the DRC curators at the University of Pretoria appointed Dr James Kirkpatrick and Dr Andre van Niekerk to “listen” to theology student’s concerns about theological education. Our group complained about professors denying the bodily resurrection of Jesus and the Bible being the fraud of people. Nothing about this was included in the report they published later. We complained about this and finally resigned, and one of our (formerly) confessional professors wrote this email to me afterwards:
“You will not be able to win the fight against the curators and the professors. They have too much power. They confer before the time, agree on a strategy and during the meeting there is usually not much progress.”
In 2023 verdedig hy ook Peter Nagel, wat Jesus se godheid bevraagteken het.
