… once you realize that God’s real then you’re like well which one … I’ve read all the major religious books – I’ve read the Quran, the Bavad Gita Egyptian Book of the Dead, Book of Mormon, the Dao which is the same as the Tao, all three Bibles: the Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox text and the Apocrypha and I have a bit of a photographic memory. I can index content pretty well and I started to realize that all the books say the same thing: Be a good person. Live a good life. Do the right thing. You’ll be okay except for the Bible which said you’re not a good person. You can’t save yourself and you need a savior. If the Bible is the only one that’s different and is telling me what I don’t want to hear and everyone points back to Jesus as one way. The Muslims say if you live Jesus’s life you’re good. Hindus, if you live Jesus’s life you’re good. Even the atheist say: There’s nothing, but if there was, just be a good person. You mean like Jesus? Yeah sure, like Jesus. Even the atheists say Jesus is one way. Then Jesus says: “I’m the only way.” And so just like all roads intersect it’s the odd man out he’s telling us the truth we don’t want to hear and everyone affirms him but he doesn’t affirm anyone. So it has to be Jesus. So I just come to that conclusion and then once you kind of wrap your mind around it and open your heart to him the Holy Spirit shows up and I’d already had him since I was four but you know I’d quenched him and stuffed him down and so I just took the lid off and it was game on again.
