• Can God interrupt your life
    Psalm 55:22 -
You really need to read this.
"Friends are God's way of taking care of us."

This was written by a Hospice Physician:

I was driving home from a meeting this evening about 5pm, stuck in traffic on the NI North and the car started to choke and splutter and died - I barely managed to coast into a gas station \ Ultra city before Old Johannesburg Road, glad only that I would not be blocking traffic on the highway and would have a somewhat safe & warm spot to wait for the tow truck. The car wouldn't even turn over on starting it. Before I could make the call, I saw a woman walking out of the building of the garage and it looked like she slipped and fell into a petrol pump, so I got out to see if she was okay.

When I got there, it looked more like she had been overcome by sobs rather than that she had fallen.
She was a young woman who looked really haggard with dark circles under her eyes. She dropped something as I helped her up, and I picked it up to give it to her. It was a 50c piece.

At that moment, everything came into focus for me: The crying woman, an old beat up Volkswagen beetle, crammed full of stuff with 3 kids in the back seat, and the petrol pump reading R10.00.

I asked her if she was okay and if she needed help, and she just kept saying "I don't want my kids to see me crying," so we stood on the other side of the pump from her car. She said she was driving to Limpopo and that things were very hard for her right now. So I asked, "And you were praying when I saw you fall down"? That made her back away from me a little, but I assured her I was not a crazy person and said, "He heard you, and He sent me."

I took out my petrol card and gave it to the petrol attendant to use to pay for the petrol and I asked him to fill up her car . And while it was fueling, I walked to the next door Steers and bought 2 big bags of food, some gift vouchers for more food and a big cup of coffee. She gave the food to the kids in the car, who attacked it like wolves, and we stood by the pump eating chips and talking a little.

She told me her name and that she lived in Bertrams. Her husband had left them 2 months ago and she had not been able to make ends meet. She knew she wouldn't have money to pay the rent on Jan 1 ,and finally in desperation, had plucked up the courage to call her parents, with whom she had not spoken in about 5 years. They lived in Limpopo. They said she could come live with them and try to get on her feet there.

So she packed up everything she owned in the car. She told the kids they were going to Limpopo for Christmas, but not that they were going to live there. I gave her some money, a little hug and said a quick prayer with her for safety on the road. As I was walking over to my car, she said: "So, are you like an angel or something?"

This definitely made me cry. I said, "Sweetie, at this time of the year, Angels are really busy, so sometimes God uses regular people."

It was so incredible to be a part of someone else's miracle. And of course, you guessed it, when I got in my car it started right away and got me home with no problem. I'll take it to the mechanic tomorrow to check, but I suspect the mechanic won't find anything wrong.
  • Mooi !

Dit is geweldig waar: " … decline in Biblical literacy… watering down… dumbing down … massive weakness… …. The Bible is minimized, value depreciated… “ EN dan om mense in die media te plaas “…. that communicate anything BUT doctrine and theology …” en dan glo die mense die gemors wat die media voorhou!
  • Jack took a long look at his speedometer
before slowing down: 73 in a 55 zone.
Fourth time in as many months.
How could a guy get caught so often?

When his car had slowed to 10 miles an hour,

Jack pulled over, but only partially.
Let the cop worry about the potential traffic hazard.
Maybe some other car will tweak his backside with a mirror.
The cop was stepping out of his car,
    the big pad in hand.

    Bob? Bob from Church?
Jack sunk farther into his trench coat.
This was worse than the coming ticket.
A cop catching a guy from his own church
A guy who happened to be a little eager
to get home after a long day at the office.
A guy he was about to play golf with tomorrow.

    Jumping out of the car,
he approached a man he saw every Sunday,
a man he'd never seen in uniform.
'Hi, Bob. Fancy meeting you like this.'

    'Hello, Jack.' No smile.

    'Guess you caught me red-handed
in a rush to see my wife and kids.'
'Yeah, I guess.' Bob seemed uncertain.

'I've seen some long days at the office lately.
I'm afraid I bent the rules a bit -just this once.'
Jack toed at a pebble on the pavement.
'Diane said something about roast beef and potatoes tonight.
    Know what I mean?'
    'I know what you mean
I also know that you have a reputation in our precinct '
This was not going in the right direction.
    Time to change tactics.
    'What'd you clock me at?'
Seventy. Would you sit back in your car please?'

'Now wait a minute here, Bob.
I checked as soon as I saw you.
    I was barely nudging 65..'
The lie seemed to come easier with every ticket.

    Please, Jack, in the car'

Flustered, Jack hunched himself through the still-open door. Slamming it shut, he stared at the dashboard.
He was in no rush to open the window.

    The minutes ticked by.
Bob scribbled away on the pad.

Why hadn't he asked for a driver's license?

    Whatever the reason,
it would be a month of Sundays
before Jack ever sat near this cop again.
A tap on the door jerked his head to the left.
There was Bob, a folded paper in hand
Jack rolled down the window a mere two inches,
just enough room for Bob to pass him the slip.

Jack could not quite keep the sneer out of his voice.

Bob returned to his police car without a word.
Jack watched his retreat in the mirror.
Jack unfolded the sheet of paper.
How much was this one going to cost?
    Wait a minute..
What was this? Some kind of joke?

Certainly not a ticket. Jack began to read:
'Dear Jack, Once upon a time I had a daughter.
She was six when killed by a car.
You guessed it - a speeding driver.
A fine and three months in jail, and the man was free.
Free to hug his daughters, all three of them.
I only had one, and I'm going to have to wait until Heaven
before I can ever hug her again.

A thousand times I've tried to forgive that man
    A thousand times I thought I had.
Maybe I did, but I need to do it again.
    Even now.
    Pray for me.
    And be careful, Jack,
my son is all I have left.'

Jack turned around in time to see Bob's car
pull away and head down the road.
    Jack watched until it disappeared..
A full 15 minutes later, he too,
pulled away and drove slowly home,
    praying for forgiveness and
hugging a surprised wife and kids when he arrived
    Life is precious.
    Handle with care.
    Drive safely and carefully.
  • SJOEEEE!! Hierdie "ticket" praat 100000000 maal harder as daai ander soort "ticket"!
  • Sjoe - dis so kragtig ! Dankie Oom Gideon.

  • Aggggg dis so roerend! BAIE dankie Gideon, ek dink nou aan al my geliefdes wat in " 'n ander wêreld sing" .... mag ek ook so vreugde in ander se lewe bring
  • Hoe mooi, maar tog so humanisties teen die einde met: "Life is a journey...NOT a guided tour."

By die eerste lees daarvan, egter, het Eugene Marais se gedig "Skoppensboer" by my opgekom, spesifiek die volgende twee versreëls:

In elke roos 'n dowwe blaar.

  • n Stukkie uit die militêre veterane se FB;
Hy glimlag. “Ek weet, Suster,” antwoord hy sag.

"Knowledge is like coal, black and cold until it burns. We can pile up our knowledge like coal in our coal shed, and the snows of winter may cover it. But Bible-knowledge is combustible. Set it in the grate, or in the furnace, and there’s heat, power and life. Fire comes from fire. By the fire of the Holy Spirit our knowledge will burn and blaze on the hearth of our soul. Burn for Jesus. God bless you. REINHARD BONNKE"

Einstein kan dan soos volg gelees word: "The (my language) world will ...be destroyed by those who watch my language being killed without doing anything."

“Tough times lie ahead. The erosion of sympathy for Christians and the faith they hold guarantees this. A period of severe sifting appears about to begin. Other countries and cultures are ahead of us in feeling the flames of persecution. Competing faiths and societal attitudes are quickly turning against the folk who confess Christ and as opposition intensifies so the company of confessors will dwindle. An anti-Christian outbreak seems imminent. It may not be the last and final wave of attack but everywhere it seems that men are growing impatient with the rule of Christ and his faithful subjects. We are out of step with modern mores in morals, religion, politics, cultural tastes and amusements. We will be deemed to be intolerant and loveless critics of the current ways of the world. The peace and privileges we enjoy will be withdrawn. There are too many rapidly developing lobbies that would like to see us removed. Adherence to the Gospel is going to be costly. There are times when God looks upon the earth and faith cannot be found and the love of the many has grown cold. Church and community both, have turned away. The current tide of opinion and events seems to be pointing to a widespread occurrence of faithlessness and recklessness in human behaviour and belief. God may stem the advance of evil and folly but a time of trial may be ahead.”

    1. A four-year-old child, whose next door
neighbor was an elderly gentleman, who had recently lost his
wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old

When his mother asked him what he had
said to the neighbor, the little boy just said, 'Nothing, I just

    adoption, I was adopted..'

'What does it mean to be adopted?', asked

    With a smile.

'Really,' I said. 'I have to say you

On the day the parts were awarded, I went
with her to collect him after school. Jamie rushed up to her,
eyes shining with pride and excitement.. 'Guess what, Mom,' he

    5. An eye witness account from New York
City , on a cold day in December,
some years ago: A little boy,
about 10-years-old, was standing before a shoe store on the
roadway, barefooted, peering through the window, and shivering
    With cold.

A lady approached the young boy and said,
'My, but you're in such deep thought staring in that window!'

'I was asking God to give me a pair of
    shoes, ?was the boy's reply.

The lady took him by the hand, went into

the store, and asked the clerk to get half a dozen pairs of socks
for the boy. She then asked if he could give her a basin of water
and a towel. He quickly brought them to her.

She took the little fellow to the back
part of the store and, removing her gloves, knelt down, washed
his little feet, and dried them with the towel.

By this time, the clerk had returned with
the socks.. Placing a pair upon the boy's feet, she purchased him
    a pair of shoes..

She tied up the remaining pairs of socks
and gave them to him.. She patted him on the head and said, 'No
doubt, you will be more comfortable now..'

As she turned to go, the astonished kid
caught her by the hand, and looking up into her face, with tears
    in his eyes, asked her.
    'Are you God's wife?'

(2 Sam 24:14)
  • Baie waar Liza! Iemand het eenmaal oor hofsake gesê: "it is a war of words" - - baie duidelik is dit 'n woordgeveg tussen die twee advokate.

He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater:
He sendeth more strength when the labourss increase.
To added affliction He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials His multiplied peace.
When our strength has failed, ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources,
Our Father's full giving is only begun!
His love has no limit, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men,
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.
